Year End Awards

The 2018 Show Season is upon us and in addition to the awesome high point awards NEPtHA offers at each show, there are other opportunities to qualify for year end awards.

Perpetual Awards

NEPtHA High Point Miniature Horse (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to the miniature horse accumulating the most points over all in the Miniature Divisions, all classes to count, MUST show 4 of the 5 shows and be a NEPtHA member in good standing. Never to be retired.

NEPtHA Showmanship Award (Donated by Lynn and Amber Morra)

Awarded to the Youth who attends and participates in ALL 5 SHOWS. Points are calculated by Showmanship classes entered. If a tie occurs, it will be broken by attendance, then highest points in English & Western Showmanship. This award was created by Michael Benson. Hiss passion was to get all youth involved in the club for they are our future riders of tomorrow. Never to be retired.

NEPtHA Amateur Trophy (Donated by Kate and Ashley Hair)

Awarded to the Amateur unit accumulating the most points in the Amateur division. MUST show 4 of the 5 shows and be a NEPtHA member in good standing. Never to be retired.

My Dakota Gold Trophy (Sponsored by Tracey Imbaro)

Awarded to the horse that accumulates the most points in all the Open PTHA divisions. Halter, Showmanship, Color, all performance classes to count. MUST show 4 of the 5 shows and be a PTHA and NEPtHA member in good standing. Never to be retired.

Other Awards

Youth Sportsmanship Award (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to the Youth who abides by the rules, accepts victory or defeat graciously, and helps the club and or other exhibitors. **Recipient is not required to show.

Walter Clark Award (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to a member of the New England Pinto Horse Association for their continued hard work, support and assistance to the club. ** Recipient is nominated and voted on by the Board Of Directors.

Over-All PTHA Western Horse  (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to the horse & rider who accumulates the most over-all points in Western. Only PTHA Western classes will count. Must show 4/5 shows. Must be a NEPTHA member. *Trophy to be returned at the end of year.

Over-All PTHA English Horse  (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to the horse & rider who accumulates the most over-all points in English. Only PTHA English classes will count. Must show 4/5 shows. Must be a NEPTHA member.  *Trophy to be returned at the end of year.

Over-All Walk-Trot Horse & Rider  (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to the over-all walk-trot horse & rider accumulating the most points in walk-trot. All walk-trot classes to count. Must show 4/5 shows. Must be a NEPTHA member.

Over-All All Breed Horse & Rider  (Sponsored by NEPtHA)

Awarded to the over-all All Breed Horse & Rider accumulating the most points in All Breed Classes. All, All Breed classes to count. Must show 4/5 shows. Must be a NEPTHA member.

Super Halter Horse Award  (Sponsored by Kim Gonder)

Awarded to the horse, miniature, or pony with multiple handlers, that accumulates the most over-all points in halter. PTHA, NEPTHA and All Breed halter classes to count. Must show 5 shows. Must be a NEPTHA member. NEPTHA point system will be used to calculate. Prizes awarded to the owner unless otherwise specified.

Super Horse Award  (Sponsorship varies)

Awarded to the horse, miniature, or pony, with multiple riders, receiving the most over-all points for the year. All classes offered to count, except halter. Must show 5 shows. All exhibitors & owners must be member of PTHA & NEPTHA. **NEPTHA point system will be used to calculate. Prizes awarded to the owner unless otherwise specified.

*Past winners of trophies must return them at the last show of the season or at the November fall meeting. If you are unable to make it to either events, you must make arrangements to get them back in the proper time fame so new winners may be added for awards banquet.

NEPTHA YEAR END AWARD REQUIREMENTS

1.) In order to qualify for year-end awards you must show at 4 of the 5 shows. You must be a NEPtHA member prior to the 4 shows in which you want your points to count. Example: If you show all 5 shows and do not become a member until the July show, only July, Aug, and Sept, Oct points will count for year-end awards. If you show at 4 shows but do not become a member until the August show, you DO NOT qualify for year-end awards. All Lead line participants who do not show at 4 of the 5 shows will receive a participation award.

2.) All exhibitors must be a NEPtHA member PRIOR to the July horse show in order for your points to count for year-end awards. NO EXCEPTIONS…. Example: If you become a member prior to the May show then your points from that show and any 4 other shows you come to will count for year-end awards. If you show at our May show but do not become a member until our July show then only you points from the July show and the 4 remaining shows will count toward year end awards. YOU MUST SHOW AT 4 OF THE 5 SHOWS AND BE A MEMBER PRIOR TO THE 4 SHOWS IN ORDER FOR THE POINTS TO COUNT.

3). You must show 4 of the 5 shows in each qualifying class to be eligible for year-end awards.

4.) Classes that show 2 or more times combined during the show season will be combined for year-end awards with the exception of the youth division. In the case of multiple combinations the show committee will determine how to best combine the classes for year-end awards.

5). Year-end awards for an open class will be awarded to the person who is listed as the owner on their horses papers. Unless otherwise specified.

6). Grand & Reserve halter classes, classic classes fundraiser classes, etc. will not count or qualify toward year-end awards.

7). Show results and year-end awards will be posted online for everyone to review. It is the responsibility of the member to verify their points are correct for each show and for year-end. If any mistakes are found; please contact the point’s secretary immediately. Once year-end results are final, changes will not be made. No EXCEPTIONS. Points will be final as of October 31.
